Apple is set to enhance its iPad mini and MacBook Pro with OLED displays by the end of this year. This upgrade promises superior image quality with richer colors and higher contrast, offering true blacks compared to the current LCD displays with LED or mini-LED backlighting. Samsung will supply these OLED screens. While all current iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad Pro models already feature OLED displays, the iPad mini is expected to debut with additional features like a new A19 Pro or A20 Pro chip, a vibration-based speaker system, and a water-resistant design, likely to be announced in September or October. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are rumored to include M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, a touch screen, Dynamic Island, and a sleeker design, with a release anticipated by late 2026 or early 2027. Additionally, the iPad Air is slated to receive an OLED display next year.
