How is LG challenging Samsung with its new Micro RGB TVs?

LG has unveiled the pricing for its Micro RGB Evo TVs in the US, aiming to compete with Samsung’s recently announced Micro RGB TVs. The South Korean company has started accepting pre-orders, with the 75-inch model starting at $5,000, while larger 86-inch and 100-inch versions are priced at $7,000 and $8,000, respectively. LG’s models are slightly more expensive than Samsung’s flagship R95H, which is priced at $4,500 for the 75-inch version.

The LG Micro RGB Evo TVs boast thousands of local dimming zones and are equipped with the 11 AI Processor 4K Gen3, enhancing picture quality and managing the Micro RGB Engine. This technology allows precise control over the red, green, and blue LED components, ensuring comprehensive coverage of color standards like DCI-P3, BT.2020, and Adobe RGB.

These TVs feature 4K LCD panels with a variable refresh rate of up to 165Hz and support for Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG. They also cater to gamers with features such as ALLM, VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-Sync, and HGiG. Audio capabilities include 2.2-channel speakers with Dolby Atmos, LG Sound Sync, Clear Voice Pro, Wow Orchestra, and AI Sound.

Running on webOS version 26, LG’s TVs offer the LG Channels feature, providing access to hundreds of free internet TV channels, similar to Samsung TV Plus.
