Is Kerno leading the way in UAE’s sovereign compute platform at MIITE 2026?

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Kerno, the UAE’s pioneering enterprise-grade IT hardware manufacturer, is making waves at the “Make it in the Emirates Exhibition” (MIITE) 2026 by showcasing its locally developed compute infrastructure. The company is also outlining plans to expand its domestic manufacturing operations to meet the increasing demand for sovereign AI infrastructure in the region. This move aligns with the UAE’s strategy to enhance local technology capabilities and build a resilient digital infrastructure.

Kerno’s strategy focuses on localizing key stages of the technology value chain, from research and development to manufacturing and deployment. This approach aims to meet the growing demand for infrastructure that ensures data control, operational resilience, and alignment with national priorities. CEO and Co-Founder Christopher Caswell emphasized that MIITE represents more than just an exhibition; it signifies the UAE’s commitment to developing critical technological capabilities domestically.

Chief Commercial Officer Fatma Sajwani highlighted a market shift, with customers prioritizing locally manufactured infrastructure for resilience, speed, accountability, and alignment with national goals. At MIITE 2026, Kerno is not just showcasing products but demonstrating that world-class infrastructure can be built and supported in the UAE.

Central to Kerno’s approach is its manufacturing facility in Dubai Silicon Oasis, which supports domestic demand and contributes to the UAE’s technology manufacturing sector. The facility has an annual production capacity of over 60,000 enterprise systems and includes advanced technologies like Surface Mount Technology lines and ISO 7 cleanroom environments. This initiative is expected to bolster local supply chain development, support skilled employment, and align with the UAE’s In-Country Value framework.

At the exhibition, Kerno is presenting various infrastructure solutions for enterprise and government use, including the OKAM line of enterprise server systems, the UQLEAD range of high-performance computing systems for AI applications, and the OTAON portfolio of enterprise storage systems. The USOUL platform offers system diagnostics and monitoring, enhancing infrastructure performance and maintenance. Kerno’s participation in MIITE 2026 underscores the UAE’s efforts to expand domestic capabilities in advanced technology manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports.
