Apple is set to spotlight the iPhone 18 Pro models with a standalone event this year, marking a strategic shift in its product launches. This September, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are anticipated to debut alongside a rumored foldable iPhone, dubbed the “iPhone Ultra.” Notably absent from this fall’s lineup will be any mid-tier devices, as the standard iPhone 18 is postponed to spring 2027, potentially launching with the entry-level iPhone 18e and possibly the iPhone Air 2.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to feature a smaller Dynamic Island, a brighter and more efficient display, and a new variable aperture camera, with most changes being internal. These include the introduction of the A20 chip, built on TSMC’s 2nm process, a larger battery, and Apple’s next-gen C2 modem chip, enhancing connectivity with mmWave 5G and potential 5G satellite support. New color options may include Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Dark Grey, and Silver.
The foldable iPhone Ultra is rumored to boast a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover screen, the same A20 chip and C2 modem, Touch ID, and dual rear cameras. As a high-end device, its price is expected to exceed $2,000.
