Apple is anticipated to alter its iPhone release strategy for its upcoming flagship models. Traditionally launching new iPhones in September, the company is now expected to introduce a split-launch cycle. This shift suggests that in September, Apple will likely unveil the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models, possibly alongside a new high-end foldable iPhone. However, the standard iPhone 18 model, succeeding the current iPhone 17, is not expected to debut in the fall. Instead, it is rumored to be released in the spring of 2027, with a potential launch event around March. During this event, the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 may also be introduced. The standard iPhone 18 is not anticipated to undergo major design changes but might feature Apple’s forthcoming 2-nanometer A20 chip and an upgrade to 12GB RAM, aligning it with the current Pro models. An improved display is also a possibility. For those who already own an iPhone 17, the next generation might not offer significant advancements to warrant an upgrade.
