How is ThatRound transforming startup fundraising in the UK?

ThatRound has successfully completed a pre-seed funding round aimed at enhancing its AI-driven platform for startup fundraising in the UK. Founded by Bradley Jones, the platform has quickly gained traction, aiding over 500 founders and processing upwards of 1,500 funding applications since its inception in March 2025. The recent funding, secured in just two weeks with contributions from 20 angel investors, will be used to bolster the platform’s AI capabilities, enhance its learning engine, and expand the team with new hires.

ThatRound’s AI matching engine offers a unique approach by mapping detailed investor preferences and providing specific feedback to founders, setting it apart in a market traditionally characterized by opaque processes. The platform currently collaborates with 320 funding partners, with 70 actively sourcing deals through it. Despite a decline in deal volumes, the total equity invested in the UK has risen, indicating a shift towards fewer but larger funding rounds.

Co-founder Bradley Jones emphasizes that the challenge lies not in access but in infrastructure, asserting that recent technological advancements like large language models now enable more effective matching of startups with investors. With a background in finance and startups, Jones has leveraged his experience to drive ThatRound’s growth, aiming to further integrate the early-stage fundraising market into the platform.
