What security flaws does Apple’s iOS 26.5 update address?

Apple has rolled out its iOS 26.5 and iPadOS 26.5 updates, tackling over 50 security vulnerabilities. Users are encouraged to update promptly to protect their devices. While no actively exploited bugs were identified, the detailed security documentation could guide potential malicious activities on unpatched devices. The updates resolve various issues, including image vulnerabilities, kernel problems, and bugs affecting Shortcuts, Spotlight, and screenshots. Additionally, ten WebKit vulnerabilities that risked data exposure or system crashes have been addressed. For those unable to install iOS 26, Apple has provided alternative security updates across different versions, ensuring broader device protection. Mac users are also advised to update, with macOS Tahoe 26.5 introducing nearly 70 security improvements, and alternative updates available for older systems.
