Will Apple Let You Customize Your Camera App in iOS 27?

Apple’s Camera app is set for a significant transformation with the upcoming iOS 27. Users will soon have the ability to customize which controls appear in the app, including options for flash, exposure, timer, depth of field, photo styles, and resolution. While the traditional layout with its quick-access buttons for flash, Live Photos, and Night Mode will remain, a new “advanced” layout will cater to those seeking more detailed control over their photography. This new interface will feature widgets that users can arrange as desired, with a sliding tray offering basic, manual, and settings categories. Separate widget configurations will be available for photo and video modes. Additionally, a new Siri mode will integrate Visual Intelligence features. This overhaul marks a shift for Apple’s previously restricted stock app, aligning it more closely with third-party offerings that have provided enhanced manual controls. The changes are expected to debut at WWDC on June 8, with a full release anticipated in the fall, coinciding with the launch of the new iPhone 18 Pro models.
