What is the $870,000 Endue Software data breach settlement about?

Endue Software has reached an $870,000 settlement to address claims related to a data breach in February 2025 that exposed sensitive consumer information. This settlement is intended for individuals whose private data may have been compromised. The lawsuit alleged that Endue Software neglected to secure consumer information adequately, suggesting that the breach could have been avoided with proper cybersecurity measures. Although the company has not admitted fault, it has agreed to the settlement terms. Affected individuals can benefit from two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection. Those with documented financial losses due to the breach can claim up to $2,500 for expenses such as identity theft and fraud. Others without documented losses are eligible for a one-time payment of $65, with the total fund for these payments being $260,000, distributed based on the number of valid claims. The deadline to opt out or object to the settlement is June 30, 2026, with the final approval hearing set for July 15, 2026. To receive benefits, claims must be submitted by June 30, 2026.
