Earlier this year, Samsung introduced a new level of cross-compatibility between Android and iOS with the integration of Quick Share and AirDrop. This initiative, first unveiled at Samsung Unpacked 2026, has now expanded beyond Samsung to include other major Android brands like OPPO, OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi, and HONOR. Currently, this feature is accessible on select models such as the Galaxy S26 series, Google Pixel 10, 9, and 8a, OPPO Find X9 and N6, and Vivo X300 Ultra.
For those without a compatible device, Quick Share provides a workaround by allowing any Android phone to generate a QR code for seamless sharing with iOS devices via the cloud. Furthermore, Quick Share will soon be integrated into popular apps like WhatsApp.
Samsung’s strategic collaboration with Google positions it as a key player in pioneering Android innovations. Historically, Samsung’s flagship S-series has been a testing ground for new features, as seen with the introduction of Circle to Search in 2024 and Android Intelligence in 2026. The recent rollout of AirDrop compatibility with Quick Share on the S26 series exemplifies this ongoing partnership.
