Nintendo has unveiled a new mobile game, Pictonico, set to launch on May 28. This innovative iOS game transforms photos into interactive minigames reminiscent of those found in WarioWare. Players can snap pictures of themselves and friends, which the app then creatively alters. Examples include a game where a character’s mouth opens to eat corn with a tap or another where a player must unwrap a mummy.
Pictonico offers 80 minigames, with varying difficulty levels and speeds, including normal, high-speed, and danger zone modes. As players advance, the challenges intensify. The app can access photos from the Photo Library or use the iPhone’s camera directly within the game. Importantly, Nintendo assures that all photos remain on the device and are not uploaded to servers.
Developed in collaboration with Intelligent Systems, the creators of the WarioWare series, Pictonico is free to try, offering three complimentary minigames. Additional games are available for purchase, with “Volume 1” priced at $7.99 and “Volume 2” at $5.99. The game is currently available for pre-order on the App Store.
