Samsung and Google have introduced their first smart glasses, which are designed by Samsung and operate on Google’s Android XR system. These glasses can connect not only to Android phones and iPhones but also to Galaxy Watches and other smartwatches running Wear OS. During a developer conference, Google highlighted that these Android XR smart glasses can sync with a Wear OS smartwatch associated with the same user account when within wireless range. This integration allows the smartwatch to display images captured by the smart glasses, as the glasses themselves lack a display or viewfinder. Users can quickly review and retake photos if necessary. Additionally, gestures on a paired Galaxy Watch can control music playback and perform various functions on the smart glasses. While demonstrated with a Pixel Watch, these features are also anticipated to be compatible with Galaxy Watches.
