Rising prices and early purchases are contributing to a renewed optimism among channel partners. A recent survey revealed that 66% of these partners anticipate profit growth by 2026, a notable increase from the 60% who foresaw a decline earlier this year. Similarly, 60% now expect revenue growth this year, compared to 45% earlier bracing for a downturn. UK channel partner leaders highlight memory shortages as a mixed blessing for their operations. Major resellers like Computacenter, CDW, and Softcat have reported slight positive impacts from these early purchases. However, experts warn that this optimism may be temporary, with potential challenges looming as supply constraints intensify towards 2027. This comes after a period of notably negative sentiment earlier this year. Meanwhile, the tech sector’s volatility is underscored by the strong revenue growth of major tech companies, which saw a 28.3% increase year-on-year in Q1. Despite this, significant layoffs, such as those announced by Cisco, are casting a shadow over these achievements, with 58,000 job cuts reported in the first quarter alone.
