Apple is set to reveal iOS 27 at the WWDC 2026 keynote on June 8, with several anticipated features and updates for iPhones. The first developer beta is expected right after the keynote, with a public beta in July, and a full release in September for compatible iPhones.
A standout feature is the new Siri app, which will allow users to interact with Siri through text and voice, and access past conversations. This app will function similarly to popular chatbots and will integrate with the Dynamic Island for a more interactive experience. Personalized features will also be included, such as retrieving information from apps like Mail and Messages.
iOS 27 will introduce 5G satellite internet connectivity, initially for the iPhone 18 Pro models. New satellite capabilities will include Apple Maps, photo support for Messages, and third-party app integration. Users will also be able to connect to satellites without needing to point their devices skyward.
The update will focus on improving performance and stability, akin to the Mac OS X Snow Leopard approach. An enhanced iPhone keyboard with improved autocorrect is expected, alongside a Liquid Glass slider for interface opacity adjustments.
New Apple Intelligence features are anticipated, including Visual Intelligence for scanning nutrition labels and contact information, as well as generating digital versions of physical tickets in the Wallet app. Safari will automatically name Tab Groups based on their contents.
iOS 27 will support iPhone models from the iPhone 12 series onward, dropping support for older models like the iPhone 11 and the second-generation iPhone SE. However, these older devices will still receive security updates for iOS 26. The new Apple Intelligence features will require an iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
