Apple has unveiled iOS 27, promising a host of new features for iPhone users. Although the final version will be released in September, an early developer beta is already available, with a public beta expected in July.
One of the standout features is the introduction of Siri AI, a more personalized assistant that leverages Apple’s Foundation Models to understand personal context. However, it won’t be available in the EU due to regulatory restrictions and requires an iPhone 15 or newer. Another enhancement is the Liquid Glass feature, now with an opacity slider for better customization.
The Passwords app will now automatically update weak passwords, saving users time and enhancing security. Apple Photos is also receiving upgrades, including improved tools for photo editing like Clean Up, Extend, and Spatial Reframing, which offer advanced AI-driven enhancements.
Performance improvements are another highlight, with iOS 27 promising faster app launches and quicker data transfers, benefiting even older devices. Screen Time is getting a revamp with new parental control features, including ‘Ask to Browse’ and ‘Time Allowances’ to help manage children’s app usage.
Lastly, the Shortcuts app is becoming more user-friendly with an AI upgrade that allows users to create shortcuts using natural language, simplifying the process significantly. Overall, iOS 27 is set to offer significant enhancements across various aspects of the iPhone experience.
