Has Xfinity Resolved Its Security Breach?

Comcast, the parent company of Universal Studios and NBC in the U.S., has agreed to a $117.5 million settlement following a cybersecurity breach in October 2023 that compromised the personal information of millions of Xfinity customers. Consumers informed of the breach in December 2023 are eligible for compensation, with potential payouts reaching $10,000. As part of the settlement, Comcast is also committed to enhancing its cybersecurity measures to better protect customer data. Despite agreeing to the settlement, the company has not admitted any wrongdoing.
