Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has reported a serious security alert regarding his smartphone, indicating a potential breach attempt. The alert, received from Apple, suggests that ‘mercenary spyware’ may have targeted a device associated with his personal account. Datuk Onn Hafiz expressed grave concern over the incident, highlighting the risks to data security, communication confidentiality, and personal privacy. Condemning any form of digital intrusion, he emphasized the importance of safeguarding personal rights against such threats. In response, he plans to file a police report and submit a complaint to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to ensure a thorough investigation and to hold accountable those responsible for the attempted breach.
