Has AethexAI Secured $3 Million to Develop Voice AI for Africa and the Middle East?

The startup AethexAI has successfully secured $3 million in pre-seed funding to advance localized customer support automation tailored for Africa and the Middle East. The investment round was spearheaded by 4DX Ventures, with contributions from Enza Capital, Dorm Room Fund, Mojo Ventures, and the Stanford GSB ’26 Fund, as well as angel investors including Stanford faculty, telecom executives, and AI researchers from Anthropic.

Established in 2025 by Mariama Diallo and Ayooluwa Odemuyiwa, AethexAI is developing its proprietary small-model architecture, known as the Kora series, which ranges from 300 million to 1.7 billion parameters. This technology aims to decrease latency and effectively manage regional dialects of English, French, and Arabic. The company is concentrating on high-volume enterprise applications such as KYC verification, debt collection, and customer activation, currently handling over 17,000 calls daily. The newly acquired funds will facilitate enterprise rollout, the development of APIs and SDKs, and regional expansion.
