The Joint Task Force has issued a security alert to the public, warning of potential terrorist attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP during the Eid El Kabir festivities in 2026. The group may target civilians using suicide bombers and IEDs in densely populated areas. To counter these threats, troops and surveillance have been deployed, with ISR assets activated in critical locations. Security patrols have been intensified, and cooperation with sister agencies and community groups is ongoing to ensure a safe celebration. The public is advised to hold Eid prayers and festivities close to home, avoid large gatherings, and remain vigilant in crowded places. Suspicious activities should be reported immediately to authorities. The JTF also urges the public to avoid spreading rumors and rely on official information. Traditional and community leaders are encouraged to engage with their communities to promote timely reporting of security concerns. The Operation HADIN KAI reassures residents of the North East of their preparedness and commitment to maintaining peace and safety during the celebrations, wishing the Muslim community a peaceful Eid El Kabir.
