Human Archive has secured $8.2 million in seed funding from major investors, including Wing Venture Capital, NVP Capital, Y Combinator, and angel investors from leading AI labs. This funding will support the company’s expansion of its platform designed to gather real-world training data essential for robotics and physical AI systems. The company specializes in developing hardware and mobile systems that capture and synchronize diverse data types, such as video, audio, and sensor readings, across various environments like homes, hotels, and industrial sites.
Currently, Human Archive operates primarily in India, where it collaborates with service providers and offers discounted services in exchange for data collection consent. The company is now expanding its operations into Southeast Asia and the United States, aiming to enhance its data-gathering capabilities. Over 1,000 data-collection headsets have been deployed, and the company is integrating tactile gloves, motion-capture systems, and additional sensors to gather comprehensive datasets.
Co-founder Raj Patel highlighted the significant progress made in understanding human interaction with the world. He emphasized that mastering how humans perform physical tasks is crucial for automating manual labor and advancing physical AI systems. Human Archive is actively hiring across various departments to support its growth, with offices located in San Francisco and China. Patel envisions the company’s technology as foundational for automating labor, boosting global abundance, and deepening the understanding of human intelligence.
