Apple’s Car Keys feature is set to be integrated into future vehicles by the Indian manufacturer Mahindra, allowing iPhone and Apple Watch users to unlock their cars using NFC technology via the Wallet app. While Mahindra currently supports Samsung Wallet’s Digital Car Key for Galaxy devices, it has yet to implement Apple’s Car Key support, which will be introduced in upcoming models. Car Keys enable users to unlock, lock, and start their vehicles, akin to using a physical key. Since its introduction in 2022, Apple Car Keys have been adopted by several car manufacturers, including BMW, Rivian, Kia, and Hyundai.
