Will the Foldable iPhone Come in Black?

Apple is reportedly undecided on whether its upcoming foldable iPhone will be available in black. This uncertainty arises as the device is set to enter mass production and launch as early as September. Previously, it was suggested that the foldable iPhone would be offered in two colors, with white confirmed and the second color unspecified. Recent reports suggest that the second color might be an indigo similar to the iPhone 17 Pro’s Deep Blue, alongside classic silver and white models.

Manufacturing complexities and supply constraints may limit the color options available, as seen with other high-end Apple products like the Apple Watch Ultra and Vision Pro, which launched with only one color. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has indicated potential supply challenges that could affect availability until at least the end of 2026. This limited color offering aligns with Apple’s strategy for significant product launches, such as the iPhone X, which debuted with only two color options. With an expected starting price over $2,000, the foldable iPhone’s appeal is likely not heavily dependent on color variety. The first foldable iPhone is anticipated to be announced in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
