Apple is known for unveiling new hardware at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), even though the event primarily focuses on software updates. Historically, products like the HomePod, Mac Pro, and MacBook Air have made their debut at WWDC. In 2026, however, expectations are low for new hardware announcements. Apple has already launched several products earlier this year, including the AirTag 2, iPhone 17e, and new iPad Air with an M4 chip, among others.
Despite these releases, Apple reportedly has additional products ready, such as new models of the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini. However, these are unlikely to be revealed at WWDC due to their reliance on upcoming software features, including a more personalized Siri and Apple Intelligence upgrades, which are expected later in the year.
Mac updates also seem improbable due to a global memory chip shortage affecting availability. Apple has removed certain Mac mini and Mac Studio models from its store, indicating supply challenges. While there may be previews of smart home accessories, significant hardware launches are not anticipated until Apple’s software advancements are fully realized.
WWDC 2026 will commence with Apple’s keynote on June 8, providing insights into the company’s future software directions.
