NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is visiting South Korea this week to engage with local partners, particularly in the semiconductor sector. Today in Seoul, he met with Jun Young-hyun, the co-CEO of Samsung Electronics and head of its chip division, to discuss next-generation chips. The partnership between NVIDIA and Samsung is thriving, with ongoing projects like self-driving chips and Groq AI accelerators. The Groq AI inference processor, unveiled by NVIDIA earlier this year and based on technology from the startup Groq, is set to be manufactured by Samsung and released later this year. The meeting also covered future collaborations on semiconductor products, including high-bandwidth memory solutions like HBM4 and HBM5. Although a meeting with Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee is unlikely during this trip due to his absence from South Korea, the leaders of both companies have met multiple times recently, highlighting the significance of their partnership.
