How did Samsung manage to roll out One UI 8.5 so quickly?

In early May, Samsung began distributing the One UI 8.5 update across 44 models, including the Galaxy S, Galaxy Z, mid-range Galaxy A, and Galaxy Tab series. While some devices received the update sooner due to regional variations, Samsung has now completed the rollout as of June 15, 2026. The update had one of the longest beta testing phases, lasting from December 2025 to May 2026, particularly for the Galaxy S25 series. The new Galaxy S26 series was launched in February with One UI 8.5 pre-installed, followed by the Galaxy A57 and A37 models. The update is still being distributed to older and less common models, with full global deployment expected by the end of June 2026. The list of initially supported devices includes several models from the Galaxy S, Z, A, and Tab series.
