The global shortage of components, especially in the RAM and storage sectors, is impacting Samsung’s upcoming flagship models. This shortage is leading to inevitable price hikes and limited new features in entry-level models. Recently, it was reported that Samsung might use a BOE display from China for its Galaxy S-series, a move driven by the scarcity of components. The Galaxy S27 base model is particularly affected, with its feature set, including a potential display upgrade, being compromised. In contrast, the premium models like Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro are expected to receive more substantial upgrades. Additionally, Samsung’s foldable phones, set to launch in July, are also facing challenges due to the shortage. The expansion of AI data centers and consumer demand are contributing to this issue, leading to expected price increases for models like the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, despite potential pre-order deals and trade-in offers.
