Has Samsung halted the Galaxy S26 Edge while Apple advances with the iPhone Air 2?

Following the underwhelming sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung has decided to discontinue the Galaxy S26 Edge, opting instead for the Galaxy S26+. Additionally, there are no indications of a Galaxy S27 Edge release next year. In contrast, Apple is progressing with the iPhone Air 2, slated for a spring 2027 debut. The upcoming iPhone Air 2 is expected to include a second rear camera, an A20-series processor, and improved battery life. While the current iPhone Air features a single 48MP rear camera, the new model might incorporate a 48MP ultrawide lens, akin to the iPhone 17. The enhancements in battery life may result from either a larger battery, a more efficient processor, or both.
