What’s New in iOS 27 Beta 2?

Apple has rolled out the second beta of iOS 27, introducing a range of updates and new features as it gears up for a public beta in July and an official launch in September. Among the highlights is a new “Write with Siri” button, now prominently displayed above the keyboard in apps like Notes, Mail, and Messages, enhancing the ease of using Siri for text input.

The Siri voice customization feature on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air is set to receive new options labeled “Coming Soon,” such as Pace and Expressivity, which were non-functional in the initial beta. The Wallet app now includes an “Insights” feature, still in development, promising users detailed spending insights and account information.

The Home app has been updated to support remote software updates for Apple TV, allowing users to install updates directly through the app. Additionally, iOS 27 introduces the ability to reply to specific messages in RCS conversations with Android users, aligning the experience more closely with iMessages.

iOS 27 will also notify users of any issues with iCloud backups. The AirPort Utility app will be phased out, with existing users able to re-download it, though functionality isn’t guaranteed. A new Visual Intelligence option in Siri settings allows for automatic image searches by highlighting subjects.

Camera app enhancements include highlighted tools when hidden features are active. The Wallet’s “Create a Pass” feature now offers texture options when selecting colors. HomeKit improvements address unresponsive accessories, while the Weather app benefits from clearer text for better readability.

The Siri app now supports selecting multiple conversations for deletion, and AI tools in the Photos app are now compatible with RAW images. Developers can access iOS 27 now, with a public beta expected in July and a full release in September alongside the latest iPhone models.
