Samsung has launched the Galaxy M47 5G in India, marking the return of the M-series to the market after the Galaxy M44 was skipped. The new model will be available from July 4 during Amazon’s Prime Day sale at a starting price of Rs 22,999, thanks to discounts and offers. This mid-range phone stands out with its six-year Android update commitment, a rarity among competitors like Redmi and Realme, who typically offer shorter support windows.
The M47 5G introduces several notable changes, including the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset instead of Samsung’s Exynos, and a design that aligns more closely with Samsung’s flagship models. It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. Available in two colors, Rogue Red and Blaze Blue, the phone sports a flat design with squared-off corners.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage promises enhanced performance and longevity. The phone’s camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera, all supporting 4K video recording. Samsung’s commitment to six years of updates is supported by Android’s modular update architecture and Qualcomm’s platform support.
The M47 5G also offers bypass charging, allowing power to be routed directly to the phone’s components during intensive use, reducing heat and improving performance. With a 6,000 mAh battery and 45W fast charging, the phone is equipped for extended use.
Samsung’s launch strategy in India remains focused on online sales through Amazon, amid ongoing antitrust proceedings. The M47 5G aims to differentiate itself with build quality, display protection, and extended software support, setting a new benchmark in the competitive mid-range segment.
