Apple is set to introduce a major redesign of the Apple Watch next year, featuring a new system for connecting bands. The upcoming model, potentially named “Apple Watch X,” is expected to break compatibility with the current band system, allowing for a larger battery. This redesign aligns with Apple’s historical pattern of refreshing the watch’s design every few years. The anticipated changes include a magnetic band attachment system, a thinner case, and possibly a microLED display. While previous reports suggested that these updates might appear in 2028, it now seems they could arrive as early as 2027 with the Apple Watch Series 13. The current Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to maintain the design introduced with the Series 10.
