How will Cordant’s $8M raise simplify financial infrastructure?

Cordant steps into the light with an $8 million raise to commercialize a software platform that gives unified operational visibility to banks, fintechs and payments players grappling with fragmented infrastructure.

Cordant: a command center for payments operations
The startup has built what it describes as a “command center” that consolidates and normalizes operational data from payment rails, bank accounts, ledgers, compliance tools and risk systems. Without replacing existing infrastructure or moving customer funds, the platform aggregates transactional events to enable flow monitoring, exception investigation and audit-ready record keeping.

An $8M seed round led by Motive Partners and Oak HC/FT
The $8 million seed round was co-led by Motive Partners and Oak HC/FT, with participation from Bankless VC, FJ Labs, SignalFire, Quona, Next Stage, Selah Ventures, Flatironx, Nascent Ventures, Silvercircle Ventures and Generative Ventures. Bitso and Paxos were among 11 design partners that worked with Cordant and also invested in the company.

Addressing operational blind spots
Cordant targets a recurring problem: payment workflows often span multiple banks, processors, compliance tools, treasury platforms and third-party partners, with each system holding only part of the transactional story. When payments fail, are delayed or trigger controls, operations teams still have to manually reconcile disparate sources. By creating a shared event model, Cordant delivers a coherent view of transactional activity and traces approvals, controls and workflow decisions.

A solution born from experience at Rapyd
The company was founded by former Rapyd executives — Eric Rosenthal, Lior Levitt, Sagi Ittah and Juan Jose Huezo — who led commercial strategy, engineering, product and partner integrations. According to their public narrative, their time at Rapyd, where they helped scale payments infrastructure across more than 50 countries and through 100+ partner integrations as the company passed $1 billion in revenue, exposed the large-scale operational challenges that inspired Cordant.

Preparing automation and AI for regulated environments
Cordant emphasizes that demand for operational visibility is rising as banks and fintechs look to introduce automation and AI in highly regulated settings, where traceability, auditability and consistent event modeling are prerequisites for safe deployment.
