Samsung has unveiled deep, native integration of Google’s Gemini AI across its new Galaxy lineup, covering its latest foldables, the Galaxy Watch 9, and forthcoming smart glasses. Three key themes emerge: task automation via Gemini Intelligence, a Gemini Notebook experience optimized for the wide displays of foldables, and tight pairing between screenless glasses and the watch. One outstanding question remains: hardware permissions and access to user data.
Gemini AI and task automation
Google positions Gemini Intelligence as an assistant capable of executing complex digital tasks — buying tickets, ordering food, or booking activities — and says it will work with more than 40 apps, though it hasn’t named which apps or provided a rollout timeline. On the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Samsung enables native invocation of Gemini Intelligence from the Flex Window by long-pressing the power button, offering direct access to the assistant.
