How did BiliBili showcase creative AI at the World AI Conference?

BiliBili at the World AI Conference turned an unexpected presence into a concrete hub for user-driven creativity. The platform showcased AI projects created by amateur makers, hosted live podcasts, and presented robotic animations—making its booth as much a cultural outlet as a technological showcase.

BiliBili at WAIC: user-made creations on display in real life
From more than 4,000 submissions received after a contest launched in June, BiliBili selected several projects for their first offline appearances at WAIC. Notable exhibits included a 3D‑printed “time-travel phone” by Qimiaolabi‑Duqian’a, who used AI to recreate his deceased father’s voice and built a device to hear words his father never got to say. Other projects on display included Music on Paper, which converts handwritten scores into playable instruments, and Xianbian OS, a self-built operating system.

These projects did not mainly come from established developers: BiliBili reports that many contributors had fewer than 10,000 followers and no formal training in development. Among them were a physics teacher, a novelist, a rural school student and a stay-at-home mom—illustrating the widening diversity of people now using accessible AI tools.

A space for discussion and fandom around AI
At the conference, BiliBili also hosted the “BiliBili x WAIC AI Lounge,” producing ten live video programs over the event’s three days. AI-focused creators interviewed representatives from Huawei HiSilicon, Rokid, Galbot, Linear Capital and the OpenClaw ecosystem, covering topics such as AI agents and other emerging applications in the field.
