Samsung’s Edge Panel — one of One UI’s signature features — is clashing with Good Lock’s One Hand Operation+ module. The company has acknowledged the issue, published a temporary workaround, and says a permanent fix will be rolled out soon.
A conflict that can make the home screen unresponsive
The Edge Panel is designed to give fast access to apps, contacts and shortcuts by swiping in from the screen edge. Some users of One Hand Operation+ report that this swipe can block home-screen responsiveness. When the Edge Panel’s “handle” overlaps a gesture area configured in One Hand Operation+, the gesture intended to open the panel doesn’t take precedence on the home screen, leaving the launcher unresponsive. The problem does not appear inside apps, which suggests the issue is limited to the launcher environment.
Why this happens, according to Samsung
Samsung says One Hand Operation+ is misidentifying the Edge Panel’s handle area, creating the gesture conflict. Normally the Edge Panel should have priority where the two zones overlap; on the home screen, however, that priority is not being enforced, which leads to the reported freezes.
How to keep using your phone (temporary workaround)
Samsung recommends a simple workaround to restore Edge Panel behavior temporarily:
– Open an app that supports screen rotation.
– Rotate the device to landscape, then back to portrait.
– Return to the home screen.
Some users also report that toggling the Edge Panel off and on restores functionality, but only for a few hours before the issue can recur.
