Hosted by Regenstrief Institute and Indiana University Indianapolis, the sixth Annual Healthcare AI Conference will take place September 14–16, 2026, in Indianapolis. The event centers on the 2026 theme, “Operationalizing Intelligence,” shifting the discussion from laboratory validation to safe, equitable, and scalable deployment across health systems.
Healthcare AI focus: from model development to real-world implementation
The program extends beyond model development to address implementation within complex health ecosystems and beyond. Sessions will examine what it takes to make AI a scalable, sustainable reality in modern healthcare, with particular attention to safety, equity and system-wide impact.
Program highlights
The conference will explore five core areas: innovative methods to advance clinically meaningful AI; real-world approaches that bridge data science and clinical application; trust and transparency in automated decision-making; governance and the policies needed for safe deployment; and equity to ensure AI-driven solutions reduce disparities and serve diverse populations. Content delivery will include keynotes, panel discussions and case studies presented by academic researchers, health-system leaders and industry partners.
Practical insights and collaboration opportunities
Attendees can expect practical insight into what is working in current deployments and discussion of where the field is heading next. The conference also offers dedicated opportunities to connect with potential collaborators across the Indiana University research community, Indiana health systems and industry.
