Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S23 series will receive One UI 9.0 (Android 17) as its final major operating-system upgrade.

The company launched the lineup, including the Galaxy S23 FE, with One UI 5.1 (Android 13) and had promised four major Android OS upgrades. Samsung has delivered three of those updates so far, and the series is currently running One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2).
Samsung also appears to have started testing One UI 9.0 for the three phones. Popular tipster Tarun Vats shared a screenshot of an alleged conversation with Samsung regarding the Galaxy S23 FE’s software update policy; according to that exchange, Android 17 (One UI 9.0) will be the device’s final major OS update.
