Apple Ultra: iPhone, AirPods and MacBook Reportedly Coming

Apple Ultra-branded devices are reportedly planned for release between late 2026 and early 2027, with up to three new products said to carry the name, according to reporting from Mark Gurman and Filipe Espósito. The lineup is expected to include a foldable ‘iPhone Ultra,’ ‘AirPods Ultra,’ and a ‘MacBook Ultra.’

Apple Ultra iPhone: foldable model details

Reports say the long-rumored foldable iPhone will be marketed as the ‘iPhone Ultra.’ Rumored specifications include a 7.7-inch inner display, a 5.3-inch outer display, two rear cameras and one front camera, and a Touch ID power button instead of Face ID. The device’s large inner screen is described as well suited for watching videos and multitasking. The ‘iPhone Ultra’ is expected to be released this September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and in the U.S. its starting price has been estimated at $1,999 to $2,499.

AirPods Ultra and Visual Intelligence

‘AirPods Ultra’ are reportedly slated to arrive as early as this year and could be unveiled alongside the ‘iPhone Ultra’ this September. They are described as AirPods Pro with tiny infrared cameras that act as eyes for Siri, intended to enhance the Visual Intelligence feature available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer devices. A small LED on the earbuds would indicate when the cameras are active. On iOS 27, Visual Intelligence is accessible through the Camera app via a new ‘Siri’ mode; ‘AirPods Ultra’ would enable a more hands-free experience. The reporting quotes the idea of letting users ask questions about an item they are looking at—for example, asking Siri for dinner ideas when looking at ingredients on a countertop. Code in the second iOS 27 developer beta from last month also reportedly hinted at AirPods with cameras, suggesting a launch could be approaching.

MacBook Ultra: OLED touch MacBook planned

Apple is also reportedly planning a ‘MacBook Ultra’ with an OLED display that doubles as a touch screen. Other rumored features include M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, a Dynamic Island, a thinner design compared with current MacBook Pro models, and the possible inclusion of an Apple-designed C2 modem for built-in 5G/LTE connectivity. The MacBook Ultra is said to be planned for release by early 2027.

All in all, Apple is expected to release an iPhone Ultra, AirPods Ultra, and a MacBook Ultra over the course of the next six to seven months or so.
