Galaxy Z Fold 8 Appeals to Young Women as Samsung Adds 1M Units

Samsung has increased production of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 by one million units after a strong pre-order rush, driven in part by rising interest from younger customers in South Korea, particularly women.

Why the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is winning younger buyers

Reports indicate the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 has attracted a demographic that was less interested in earlier Fold models. More than half of Galaxy Z Fold 8 customers who purchased the device through Samsung’s online store in South Korea are in their teens to 30s. Purchases by women in this age group more than doubled compared with the previous model, signaling notable growth among younger female buyers.

Sales shift prompts production boost

Previous Galaxy Z Fold models were widely viewed as devices for middle-aged men who valued the larger display mainly for productivity use cases. That perception change appears to be driving new demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, prompting Samsung to scale up production to meet the unexpected surge in orders.

Younger women, a group not previously seen as a core market for Galaxy Z Fold phones, are now showing increased interest in the device, according to the reported sales data from Samsung’s online store in South Korea.
