Apple closed out a busy week by announcing new Mac mini and Mac Studio models with updated chip options, releasing refreshed accessories, and confirming the date of its next iPhone event on Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
Apple’s hardware updates
On Tuesday Apple unveiled a new Mac mini offered with M6 and M5 Pro chip options and a new Mac Studio available with M5 Max and M5 Ultra chip options. Both the M6 and the M5 Ultra chips are new as of this week. Apple also introduced a lower-priced version of its Polishing Cloth and released updated Magic Keyboards for Macs. The new Mac mini and Mac Studio models are available for pre-order now, with deliveries to customers and in-store availability set to begin on Tuesday, September 22. The Polishing Cloth and the updated Magic Keyboards were released immediately.
iPhone event set for September 9
On Wednesday Apple announced it will hold an event on Wednesday, September 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, its first-ever foldable iPhone, and other products. Apple’s tagline for the event is “Surprise and shine.” More details will be revealed at the event.
