Is U.S. interest in electric vehicles at its lowest since the pandemic?

Interest in electric vehicles among American consumers has fallen to its lowest point since 2019, with only 16% of adults likely to purchase a fully electric vehicle next. Concerns about high battery repair costs, expensive purchase prices, and limited charging infrastructure are significant barriers. Furthermore, belief in an all-electric future is waning, with only 23% of drivers expecting most cars to be electric within a decade, down from 40% in 2022. As a practical alternative, hybrids or plug-in hybrids are suggested for those hesitant about fully electric options.
