The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, offers unique features such as Duo FaceTime and forthcoming Apple Pencil support, but it does not include several features available on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Below are 10 features missing from the iPhone Duo.
Features iPhone Duo lacks compared to iPhone 18 Pro
1. A dedicated Telephoto camera with up to 8× optical zoom — the iPhone Duo relies on its main 48-megapixel Fusion camera, which delivers an ‘optical-quality’ 2× zoom instead.
2. Variable aperture for the main 48-megapixel Fusion camera — this feature provides greater control over depth of field in photos and videos on the iPhone 18 Pro.
3. A higher-resolution 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera — the iPhone Duo’s Center Stage front camera is 12 megapixels.
4. Action button — the hardware Action button available on the iPhone 18 Pro models is not present on the iPhone Duo.
5. Face ID — the iPhone Duo uses a Touch ID button instead of Face ID.
6. LiDAR Scanner — the LiDAR Scanner, which measures depth for augmented reality purposes, is not included on the iPhone Duo.
7. Pro controls in the Camera app — advanced manual camera controls found on the iPhone 18 Pro are absent from the iPhone Duo.
8. ProRAW — the iPhone Duo does not support ProRAW capture.
9. ProRes RAW — ProRes RAW recording is not available on the iPhone Duo.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are available for pre-order now, ahead of a Friday, September 18 launch. iPhone Duo pre-orders begin Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, and the device will be released on Friday, October 23.
