NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2026 — BoomerangHR announced it has closed a $12.7 million seed round led by Kalos Ventures and Album Ventures, with participation from Monta Vista Capital, Capital Eleven and Strada Education Foundation.
BoomerangHR is an AI-powered platform for offboarding and alumni management. Modeled after the alumni networks long leveraged by firms like McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, and Procter & Gamble, the company positions its software as enterprise-grade alumni engagement for companies of all sizes at a fraction of the cost. The platform integrates with existing HRMS and ATS solutions in under an hour and offers three core capabilities.
BoomerangHR product and features
Offboarding: Automates employee exits, compliance, COBRA administration, 401(k) rollovers, equipment returns and exit interviews.
Alumni Management: Centralizes verified alumni profiles, auto-matches former staff to open roles, and keeps networks engaged.
Reporting: Tracks talent migration, re-engagement signals, and sales opportunities, with built-in non-compete tracking.
“A company’s relationship with great talent shouldn’t end when they leave,” said Jeff Wald, Founder and CEO of BoomerangHR. “We built BoomerangHR to automate offboarding and transform former team members into an active growth network. Through Boomerang, companies can easily access warm rehires, referrals, and sales leads—because your best next hire is someone who already knows your culture, your customers, and your mission.”
“When employers show love for their employees on the way out, employees will love them back,” said Marissa Andrada, former CHRO of Chipotle. “BoomerangHR’s technology enables companies to turn that goodwill into an engaged alumni community—people who may come back, bring great talent with them, and remain advocates for the brand. That’s a relationship that keeps creating value long after someone leaves.”
Market context and relevance
The company framed its offering against hiring challenges in the AI era: researchers at Gartner estimate that by 2028 one in four candidate profiles will be fake. At the same time, returning employees already represent a significant source of hires—ADP research from March 2025 found that returning employees account for one-third of new hires. BoomerangHR aims to make those “boomerang” hires and alumni networks more accessible to employers.
“Technology can make hiring harder or streamline its complexities,” said Jose Tomas, former CHRO of General Motors, Anthem, and Burger King. “BoomerangHR serves two critical purposes: offboarding compliantly with confidence and building a solid alumni talent pool. It features the agility that both functions require without putting more pressure on already stretched HR and talent acquisition resources.”
