AI Conference in London Disrupted by Activists

Activists disrupted an AI conference in London when a protester stood up and spoke out during one of the event sessions, saying, “We need a moratorium on data centres and we need to give everyday people a voice on AI.”

The action was carried out by the group Pull the Plug, which labels itself as a “movement to give ordinary people a say on how AI is implemented.”

About the AI conference

The event was part of a global series held by the Australian company Canva, intended to introduce users to new AI tools for graphic design and other online projects, while exploring “the intersection of AIand human imagination.”
