Exynos 2700 tipped for Galaxy S27 Ultra in select markets

Reports indicate Samsung may use the Exynos 2700 in the Galaxy S27 Ultra in select markets, including South Korea, while other regions such as North America could receive Snapdragon-equipped units.

The speculation follows a recent major leak suggesting the Exynos 2700 would deliver performance gains over Qualcomm’s competing Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, a development that has renewed discussion about Samsung’s chipset choices for its next flagship.

Exynos 2700 and regional chipset split

Korean media say many industry figures believe Samsung will indeed deploy the Exynos 2700 in the Galaxy S27 Ultra. Historically, Galaxy S Ultra models have retained Snapdragon chips even when Samsung switched other models to Exynos, but there is a growing view that the Ultra could see an Exynos variant in some markets while others keep Snapdragon.

Such a regional arrangement would serve two objectives for Samsung: it would help increase Exynos’s share in the global smartphone chipset market and deliver cost efficiencies. Smartphone makers are already feeling pressure from rising memory costs, and with Qualcomm rumored to raise prices for its next-generation chipset, a switch to Exynos for the Ultra model would be one way for Samsung to help protect its margins.
