Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra debuts with Dimensity 9500 and four-channel audio

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, its latest flagship tablet and the successor to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The device’s primary upgrade is a newer processor, and it also brings an upgraded speaker setup and Bluetooth 6.0.

The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, one generation newer than the Dimensity 9400+ used in the S11 Ultra. According to Samsung, the Dimensity 9500 delivers 19% faster CPU performance, 17% faster GPU performance and 61% faster NPU performance.

Audio has been improved while keeping four physical speakers: the Tab S12 Ultra now offers a four-channel speaker setup designed to provide a substantially better spatial audio experience. The tablet also moves to Bluetooth 6.0 (up from Bluetooth 5.4), which Samsung says brings UWB-level location tracking accuracy and more stable audio.

Beyond these changes, the Tab S12 Ultra retains most specifications of its predecessor and ships with One UI 9.0 on Android 17. Samsung has promised seven major Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, and the tablet includes Samsung DeX.
