AI Passport: Egoist Machines Raises $3M Seed to Scale Permissioned Data Platform

Egoist Machines, a San Francisco startup, has raised $3 million in a seed round to scale its AI Passport, a permission-based platform that lets users manage and port personal data across AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

AI Passport platform and funding purpose

Egoist Machines says the capital will support scaling the AI Passport platform and expanding its ecosystem of connected applications, though the company did not provide further specifics on how the funds will be allocated. The AI Passport functions as a permissioned context and identity layer designed to keep personal context owned by the user rather than by the applications that collect it.

Investors in the round include Y Combinator, a prominent European family office, Goodwater Capital, and scientists from DeepMind and Meta. The seed round was announced with a funding date of October 7, 2026.

Company and founders

Egoist Machines was founded by Erin McGurk and Dr. David Khachaturov. The company is positioning its AI Passport to enable portability of personal context across multiple AI assistants and to build an ecosystem of connected apps.
