iPhone Duo teardown reveals dual batteries and modular USB‑C

Early teardown videos of the iPhone Duo, shared by YouTube channels REWA Technology and Phone Repair Guru, show the device uses two removable battery cells with a combined capacity of 4,883 mAh.

The batteries are removable using electrically‑activated adhesive: a larger cell rated at 2,962 mAh (11.56 Wh) and a smaller cell rated at 1,921 mAh (7.5 Wh).

REWA Technology’s video includes a labeled breakdown of the logic board, which the channel identifies as containing Apple’s A20 Pro chip and a C2 cellular modem, among other components.

Repairability and components

Phone Repair Guru reported that the iPhone Duo’s Touch ID button can technically be removed for repairs but described the process as difficult. The same channel also said the device apparently features a completely modular USB‑C charging port. Apple provides the iPhone Duo as an eSIM‑only device worldwide.

The repair site iFixit is expected to publish a more comprehensive teardown with detailed analysis in the coming days. Separately, Apple has published the iPhone Duo repair manual.
