Apple’s online store is down ahead of iPhone Duo pre-orders, which are scheduled to begin at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16.
“We love that early energy,” reads the Apple Store’s message when visiting the U.S. website. “Almost ready for you. Pre-order begins at 5:00 a.m. PT. See you soon.” Apple has been opening pre-orders at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time for several years, rather than the 12:01 a.m. start time it previously used.
Customers in more than 70 countries and regions, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, the UAE, the UK, and the U.S., will be able to pre-order the iPhone Duo when the store comes back online.
iPhone Duo availability and specs
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone and is offered in Star White and Night Sky. It will be available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage capacities. In the United States, the iPhone Duo starts at $1,999.
The device launches on Friday, October 23, when deliveries to customers and in-store availability begin. Availability will expand to 28 additional countries and regions on Friday, October 30.
Pre-order timing and rollout
Pre-orders begin at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time on October 16, following Apple’s recent practice of opening pre-orders at that hour. The online store remains offline until it reopens to accept orders across the listed countries and regions.
