Apple’s redesigned Health app is available in the iOS 27.2 beta but is not expected to ship with the update’s public release later this month.
Apple still plans to roll out the redesign in 2026, but it will likely arrive in a subsequent update to iOS 27 after iOS 27.2, which is expected in late October.
Health app: summaries, Insights and Health Age
The redesign introduces health summaries that refresh throughout the day and a new Insights tab that analyzes health data over time to calculate a user’s Health Age. The Health Age calculation draws on activity level, VO2 max, sleep time and other metrics. The app also includes fitness assessments users can perform on their iPhone to check flexibility, balance and VO2 max.
Availability and requirements
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 owners will see a readiness score based on recent activity, vitals and sleep score to help decide whether to take a recovery day or push harder. Apple plans to offer a $119 laboratory panel from Quest Diagnostics that will contribute to the Health Age score. Getting the most out of the Health app will require an Apple Watch or another fitness device that integrates with the app. Apple says the redesigned Health app will be initially available in U.S. English and has not announced when additional languages will be added. Expect the update before the holidays.
