HomeView and Apple’s ‘Welcome Home’ Launch: What to Expect

Apple’s “Welcome Home” product launch is scheduled for tomorrow and will introduce new home accessories led by a long-rumored home hub called HomeView.

HomeView: a Siri AI‑focused home hub

Apple’s home hub, reportedly named HomeView, is presented as a multi‑function device for all household occupants and is built around Siri AI. Rumors indicate the hub will use an A18 chip and 8GB of RAM and will include a 6‑inch square touch display with bezels. Two models are expected: a wall‑mounted version (available in silver and gray) and a speaker‑equipped model on a half‑dome base with a flexible arm (expected in gray, silver, starlight, and rose).

According to the reports, HomeView will support many typical home assistant tasks via Siri AI, including answering questions, controlling smart home devices, showing time and weather, displaying widgets (including widgets from a connected iPhone), showing calendar events and reminders for each user, playing music, podcasts and audiobooks, playing videos and TV shows, showing photos and slideshows, supporting video calls, showing news, messages and email, and displaying recipes and instructions while completing tasks. The interface is said to be widget‑based, similar in appearance to the iPhone’s StandBy mode, letting users choose a clock face or idle state and a home screen of tappable widgets.

HomeView is reported to include a presence sensor and a camera and to use a variation of Face ID to recognize who is nearby and show customized content. It will display information from a linked iPhone, such as email messages, only after authenticating. Its sensors are expected to be usable in HomeKit scenes and automations to trigger lights and other devices when a person enters a room. Multiple hubs should link for multiroom music and intercom features. The speaker model is rumored to have better sound quality than the HomePod mini. The hub will not have a built‑in battery and will require power via an included USB‑C port. Price speculation places HomeView at around $350, and the hub is not expected to include its own App Store but will support Apple apps such as Safari, News, Music, Reminders, Calendar, Weather, Messages, FaceTime, Photos, and Mail.

Apple TV 4K: internal overhaul for Siri AI and gaming

The new Apple TV 4K is not expected to change its external design; changes are focused on internal upgrades to support Siri AI and improved gaming. Reports say the device will use an A19 processor with 8GB of RAM and include Apple’s N1 networking chip for Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. The A19 is described as bringing performance improvements that enable enhanced Siri capabilities and gaming features such as ray tracing and mesh shading.

A new Siri Remote with a built‑in speaker is anticipated to make the remote easier to locate. There are signs Apple is working on a Beats‑branded gaming controller, but there is no confirmation that such a controller will ship with the Apple TV. Apple previously raised the price of the current Apple TV to $199 in June; the new model with the reported processor and RAM upgrades is expected to cost at least that much.

HomePod mini: internal upgrades and smarter Siri

The HomePod mini is also expected to retain its existing design while receiving internal updates. Rumors point to an upgraded S10 chip, second‑generation UWB for features like Handoff, and the N1 networking chip with Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Because the HomePod mini likely won’t handle extensive on‑device AI processing, it will require a nearby AI‑capable device for heavier Siri AI tasks, though Siri AI on HomePod mini should benefit from cross‑device context and may save conversations to a connected iPhone’s Siri app.

Siri AI on the HomePod mini is reported to support follow‑up questions, multi‑request queries, and access information from apps, offering a more conversational assistant experience. New color options are expected: white, blue, black, sage, and pink. HomePod mini pricing rose from $99 to $129 in June 2026; the new model is likely to be priced at $129.

LG accessories and the Apple Home Collection

Apple is said to have worked with LG on a range of LG‑branded accessories that will integrate with the HomeView hub and HomeKit as part of an “Apple Home Collection.” The lineup reportedly includes a wired video doorbell, thermostat, smart deadbolt lock, temperature sensor, indoor security camera, outdoor security camera, and floodlight camera. These accessories are not expected to be available until later this year at the earliest, though Apple could show them at the announcement.

Announcement timing and availability

There will be no traditional keynote for the “Welcome Home” debut; Apple is likely to publish a video and press releases. A New York City media event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time to give journalists hands‑on time with the new devices. Apple could begin accepting preorders shortly after the launch. The HomePod mini and the Apple TV 4K are expected to launch on Friday, October 30, while HomeView is not expected to ship to customers until mid‑November.
